I found my first "where'd that come from?" scratches yesterday, plus some swirl marks

. I'm tossing that chamois or at least removing it from car washing duty.

Call me a wuss but I'm still in the denial stage of getting scratches lol. I've had it for not even a month yet.

I've already got a basic kit of meguiar's 205, swirl x, and scratch x ordered. I've already got a P-C DA so I'm all prepared lol. All the scratches look like clearcoat scratches so hopefully I can get them taken off.

They're probably the first of many to come.

^It'll keep swirling on you. It's a really crappy clear-coat for a $30-40k car, for sure...

I bought mine last May and it looks like it's 5 yrs old. lol
(I track it too, though...)

will if u seen my journal, im sure i have more scratches chips then u, so dont be to sad. and since you say they are mostly clearcoat scratches, BUY DRCOLORCHIP ALREADY DAMMIT! my chips and scratches are deep, all the way to the metal/plastic, drcolorchip does wonders, u can still tell its chipped but only when u look up close. DrColorChip is FTW! =]

denial =/= sad...more like disappointment lol.

I've stopped tailgating people on the freeway to keep chips to a minimum. I'm planning on putting a clearbra on soon to keep the chips away.

I can deal with scratches but chips bug me.

DrColorChip... 30$ for the small one, u can use it forever lol... and if u already have chips and scratches on front bumper dont waste your money on a clear bra now since it will still be noticeable under the clear bra, just wait until you actually mess it up, maybe one day u accidently hit something or something hits u, then repaint it and then clear coat it. since i have alot of small little tiny scratches and chips from when i went to san francisco and back, i just decided im going to wait like a half year or a year, then repaint it and clear coat full bumper and hood.

^ lol. seriously, right? I get 20mpg on either I or S mode with mixed driving. (50% cruising at 70-75 mph hwy and hard acceleration and engine braking on local). ewrd, just go S or S# mode, buddy lol.

^or dont drive with a heavy foot haha. with I mode i was close to like 25 or above, i forget but yeah lol! i just stay on S unless im boosting crazy, which ill go to S# (track, or GMR). other than that, im almost always just on S. i dont even use I anymore XP no point rofl.

I also use S mode most of the time. I'll use i-mode if I'm stuck in traffic.
