Any suggestions where to start?
Research various track organizations. Each organization has its own structure and way of handling things. When I was gearing up, I went to a few Extreme Speed, Speed Ventures, and NASA events to meet with instructors and check out the programs. I sat through their classroom sessions and met with some of the drivers.

I chose NASA since they have a more formal structure in how the organization is operated and I really liked the drivers and instructors. They were a really welcoming and helpful group. They're also a sanctioned racing body, so they offer the race licensing program. I do want to run spec series in the future, making this the best choice for me.

This is a great build, if only more people would go your route.

Attended my first track event yesterday 3/27 with OnGrid at Buttonwillow.

It was fun to finally get out to the track. Has been a goal of mine for many years but, has always been put off for various reasons. One of them was not having a trackable car. After, finally getting my Subie it was only a matter of time. fast forward to 3/27 and I was on the tarmac ready to lay down some rubber. Running my Subie in a controlled environment and really seeing what it could do had me smiling from ear to ear. Even though I know I wasnít taking the best lines, almost lost it a couple of times. I Had a blast!!!

After a few sessions and a ride along with some good advice. I found my groove and had my lines down, started going faster, braking later and harder coming into the turns and flying out of them. So much fun I canít wait to get out there again.

Unfortunately, my lap timer (harryís lap timer) didnít record any of my times... Oh well just means I have go out again
