Default Barrett17's SWP Hatch - Beatrice

Updates 04/23/2017 on Page 5

I've wanted a SWP WRX for a long time. I used to want a STI but as I grew older I decided for what I was planning on using the car for it wasn't worth the extra costs. I'm sure I will spend enough money over the life of the car to reach the cost of the STI. I plan to mod the car as a way to entertain myself and to get the car to a point where I am completely satisfied, hopefully I get there one day. Working on cars is one of the best ways I can reduce stress by doing something I love.

Default Rear License Plate LEDs

CEL came on last night when I was starting my drive home from a wedding. Turns out when the dealer sold me the car and topped it off with gas they never put the damn gas cap back on. Explains why I was flying through gas like crazy and the CEL. Glad it wasn't something more serious though. Anyway I changed the bulbs for my license plate lights as my official first mod.

Stock

L.E.D.

Really not much of a difference in brightness. I like the whiter light output however.

It looks pretty clean on mine. The heat has been wrecking the grommet that fills the hole though. I need to clean up the edges and replace it soon.

So I have gone a little crazy lighting wise and picked up LED lights for all of the interior, and also the reverse. I am not going to mess around with LEDs for the blinkers since I don't want to deal with the hyper blinker. I will post pictures of stock vs LEDs once everything comes in and gets installed.

I also ordered a set of mudflaps. Most of my stuff is all cosmetic for now. Ive got a kid on the way so my mod budget is pretty limited right now, wife has approved one mod a month haha.

If you buy the kit from fastwrx.com the relay that you can buy gets rid of the hyperblink and it's so simple a chimp could do it Belated welcome!

Default Updates 7-11-14 - LED Lighting - Perrin Shorty Antenna - Black Side Badges - Filter Change

I installed all of the LED lights I could find. The interior is much brighter and a little more high end feeling. Pictures make everything look a little more blue than it really is.

Hatch area:

Cree Reverse Lights

Stock vs Cree

It looks very blue in pictures but the light output is more of a bright white, bluish tint. Light output is very directional but visibility through the rear tint is a little better.

Changed the Antenna to the Perrin 2 in. Shorty Antenna:
Stock:

Perrin:

Much Cleaner looking. Might switch to the shark fin antenna later but this is much better than stock.

Also removed the stock silver WRX badge on the side and put in black ones:
Stock:

Black:

The black goes really well with the SWP and although it's a small change its big when you're on a tight budget!

And lastly I changed the cabin filter, pretty disgusting...

Also took a random shot of Beatrice with her new nokya hyper yellow DRL's. I really like the look of yellow lights on white cars, that's the ricer in me I guess.

Don't judge my mess of a garage please.
