Default Engine Rebuild Parts List

Here's all of the fun stuff that went into the rebuild:
  • JE Pistons 99.75 mm bore
  • Manley H-Beam rods
  • ACL race bearings
  • STI crankshaft
  • ARP head studs
  • 08+ STI oil pump
  • GSC stainless valves (intake and exhaust)
  • Killer B pan, pickup, and baffle plate
  • ACT streetlite flywheel
  • ACT HDSS clutch
  • NGK 1 step colder plugs

I stuck with the factory turbo, water pump, thermostat, and a few other things.

How do you like the streetlite flywheel? Heard the lighter flywheel help with acceleration but are also effecting momentum at higher speeds (standard laws of inertia). Also heard the chatter upon deceleration can be excessive at times

It's hard to say at this point. The WRX has seen nothing but daily driving miles since the rebuild. I haven't had a chance to let the car stretch its legs so to speak and learn all of the changes.

There's a tiny spot in the clutch throw that causes an insane amount of chatter. Fortunately, this is limited to crawling out of parking lots and I just have to be aware of the clutch pedal position. Most of the time, I rarely hit that chatter-inducing spot.

Hows the car doing Caroline? How do you like your engine rebuild? Did you break 1:50 yet?
