Default ITR brake upgrade

During my last track event at Buttonwillow i ran into some braking issues. I've been running stock Integra GSR front brakes up until this point. I have been eyeballing the ITR brake upgrade for sometime now. Since i needed to replace the pads again i decided this was a good time to pull the trigger on the ITR brake upgrade. I also wanted to remove the backing plates for extra cooling in the front. I have held off on doing this since my lower ball joints had torn boots and i didn't want any grease to get on the rotors. So during the brake upgrade i also installed new factory lower ball joints.

Stock GSR front brake setup

backing plate

Old lower ball joint with torn boot

Old vs. New lower ball joint

New lower ball joint installed

Wrapped the lower ball joints in heat reflective tape

since the backing plates were removed just wanted to be sure the boots dont melt

New rotor (top) vs. Old rotor (bottom)

Old rotor with cracks from the heat (rotor only had 5 events on them)

Old vs New Hawk Blue brake pads

New ITR caliper vs Old GSR caliper

everything installed

After running the Koni Ground Control setup for almost a year, i felt it was time to change the spring rates to help with rotation while on track. I had a fellow HFF Challenge competitor selling some Eibach race springs and i decided this was the perfect opportunity to get them installed before the next event. Big thanks to Nick!!

Default 2017 HFF Challenge Rd. 2 - Spring Mountain - 3:06.443

HFF Challenge Round 2
April 22, 2017
Driver: Nicole Cervantes
Car: 1996 Acura Integra GSR
Organization: Speedventures.com/ HFFchallenge.com
Track/ Configuration: Spring Mountain 3.4 mi
Skill Level: Advance
Class: Street
First time of the day: 3:15.510
Final Time of the day: 3:06.443

This was a very fun trip we drove my car to Pahrump, NV very memorable road trip, at the end of this post i will include some cool pictures. This was my first time ever running this track, lets just say i want to go back for more! The facilities are nice with a beautiful breathtaking view, this track is very unique. Sorry ahead of time my camera mount broke so my video is shakey, i didn't realize it broke until i was packing up at the end of the day. So this footage was from my first timed run which was a 3:06.443 in my second session. As the day progressed my tires were giving out, by the end of the weekend they were no more. So with the circumstances of this being a totally new track and having not so great tires i did my best. As for the brakes i did the Type R upgrade and i'm in love, the car stops on a dime with no issues. The new race springs that i installed, along with the new alignment felt perfect the car was rotating beautifully (on a side note i cant wait to drive my car at Buttonwillow ). Also you can see i installed my rear view mirror with the new brackets so i can tilt the mirror and its not in my face anymore. A problem i am running into quite frequently is my gopro battery keeps dying thats why lately i am only filming one session, there has to be another way to have it keep a charge longer (i have some ideas). There is room for lots of improvement, i think next time will go a lot smoother as i will know what to expect.I took 3rd place for Street Class. See you guys at Round 3 Big Willow!!

Put the stock wheels on for the drive up.

Had to swap them out for my track setup

Hot track

Hey John, finally got my car back. Went back to stock but it's all good for now.
When will you be going to the track again? Or how can I sign up for these track days.
I have a fully built '73 240z, full roll caged and all. Think it's time to bring her back out for some fun.
